Code Against Sexual Exploitation of Children (ESNNA)
The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) has established a policy against the sexual exploitation of children and young people (ESNNA).
In addition, the ESNNA regulation and Ultimate Trekking have agreed on collaborative activities that will be taken to prevent the difficulties discussed before. As a consequence of this, we have the following announcement to make:
- Because sexual exploitation is an activity that violates fundamental human rights and is incompatible with the goals that are inherently associated with our company, we are opposed to any form of sexual exploitation of children and young people in Peru and around the world, particularly any form that is associated with travel and tourism. This is especially true for any sexual exploitation of children and young people associated with travel and tourism.
- In light of the information presented above, we strongly condemn those individuals who use tourism activities and the possibilities and services that these activities make available to encourage, enable, or justify the sexual exploitation of young women, men, and children.
- Those who use tourism activities and the chances and services they provide to promote, assist, or legitimize the sexual exploitation of young girls are subject to our utmost condemnation.
- Ultimate Trekking, Joins the battle against the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in the tourism business by subscribing to this code of conduct for all travelers and staff:
- Ultimate Trekking, Joins the fight against the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in the tourism industry.
Observance of an ethical stance that unequivocally rejects the sexual exploitation of children and young people as unethical behavior.
- To avoid sexual exploitation of children and young people when participating in excursions and tours, the personnel must be trained and educated about the company’s policy.
- A good way to remind customers and vendors of your stance on the sexual exploitation of children and teenagers in the travel and tourism industry is to post signage where they can be seen.
- Include a statement in your contracts with travel providers that collectively oppose the sexual exploitation of young people of all sexes, including girls, boys, and young adults.
- This language should be included in the contract. It is planned to use the following passages: “Young people and children are supported by the travel and tourism industry, which does not engage in sexual exploitation.”
- As a result, we will not put up with any behavior that condones or supports the sexual abuse of children and young people.”
