Full Itinerary:
Day 1: Cusco – Cachora – Chiquisca
- Pick-up from your hotel in Cusco and drive to the village of Cachora
- Begin your trek, descending towards the Apurimac River and reaching the campsite at Chiquisca
Day 2: Chiquisca – Marampata – Choquequirao
- Continue descending to the Apurimac River before ascending to Marampata village
- Arrive at the Choquequirao archaeological site and set up camp
- Enjoy a guided tour of the Choquequirao ruins
Day 3: Choquequirao – Pinchaunuyoc – Maizal
- Trek from Choquequirao to Pinchaunuyoc, an Inca site with terraces and water channels
- Continue to the village of Maizal and camp for the night
Day 4: Maizal – Yanama – Totora – Lucmabamba
- Begin the day with a trek to Yanama Pass (15,255 ft) and take in stunning views of snow-capped peaks
- Descend to the village of Totora and continue to Lucmabamba, where you’ll spend the night
Day 5: Lucmabamba – Llactapata – Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco
- Trek to Llactapata, an Inca site with a unique view of Machu Picchu
- Descend to the hydroelectric plant and board the train to Aguas Calientes
- Explore Machu Picchu with a guided tour and enjoy some free time to explore on your own
- Return to Aguas Calientes and board the train to Ollantaytambo, where you’ll transfer to a vehicle back to Cusco
